DAWN

A Duet

Oluwakayode Taiwo

Like windmill sails
dark night wave at fireflies
fragrant fumes pop out of the meadow
as soft breeze bow down the flowers

I watch as fogs blurrily clad the footpaths-
with whitish garments and silky cottons
I wake to the sight of the morning dew
wetting the offsprings and autumn leaves
and feel the soft wind dancing around my nose
as it rustles the dried leaves
filling the ambience with vegetable aura.

Clouds walk from black to blue,
whilst the moonlight drawn grew so dim
the street cocks shake hands with crow
Like a diamond
the stars faintly dazzle up above.

"Tigh thegh tigh thegh" of the neighbors feet
raise an alarm to my sleepy ears
as the luminous smiling sun rays-
saunter in through the window pane
to remind me of a brand new day.

It's a new beginning.
Hop about with my new bikini.
Nature's essence shines brightly up above.
Beautiful it is says nature's goddess.

Freshly cooked thoughts dance in my mind.
With evergreen appearance in a joyful mood.
Like a chameleon ready to devour it's prey.
Incredible is the sight of my newly found morning.

Invisible force to forge ahead escalates.
Each moment like a drumming fire band.
In a momentum cradle I relay my insatiable desires.
To conquer the world before spuntare fades away.

Surreptitiously engaged in a marathon race.
Like fugitive at the mercy of prosecution.
Astonishment in a double folded arms.
Is my plans for this beautiful morning.
