Watch ME

Watch me walk the dark alley, 

barefoot no footprints 

climb the shapeless hill 

 

Watch me sit with groans and moans 

Count the bruises before they join the scars

Watch me nurse my foot

wallow in thoughts

     listen to owls hoots on my failures. 

 

Watch me fade away like a sunset 

die to the imitation of me  

like a stirred egg poured on a hotplate. 

smooch the dusk breeze

whiff the evening dust 

 

Watch me sleep, wake up to the call

of the future I've craved for

stand up on

       my black-and-blue legs

wincing to the constant pains. 

 

Watch me unscramble the fractures 

walk on the creaky narrow road 

climb the hill the hundredth time 

 

 hold on to the slopes 

watch me reach the steep, 

watch me stare back at the gravelled land. 

 

watch me dance in glee

                        mirth on my face

 

watch me reach the peak of my world

before i wake up from my sleep

don't go, oh don't leave me 

 

watch me taste my dreams 

 before you bid goodbye.

 in your face lies my power, my strength. 

 

Watch me become the man

 you've always wanted to see

Watch me succeed, watch me grow
